The Democratic Alliance seems to be taking a page from the Obama campaign. Just saw a Facebook ad - http://contributetochange.co.za/ - which is urging people to volunteer to phonebank.

I suppose I should start researching their policies. Apparently some people think the DA's Helen Zille has been a pretty good mayor in Cape Town - and have awarded her the 2008 World Mayor Award.

“Jacob Zuma, the president of the once highly respected and admired ANC, stands accused of attempting to rape the justice system of South Africa. His wholly self-serving, entirely unethical 'struggle' tactics to avoid at all costs his corruption trial are blindly supported by certain prominent leaders within that party, the ANCYL and the tripartite alliance. As one, they have launched a scathing, unabated, unfounded attack on the credentials and motive of our judges, including those from the Constitutional Court, many, if not all of whom, featured strongly in South Africa's struggle history."
